Aeronautical Industry Service Communication Administrative Domain
An AISC Administrative Domain is an ATN Administrative Domain owned and/or administered by an aeronautical industry service organisation.
Aeronautical Industry Service Communication Routing Area
An AISC Routing Area is a routing sub domain comprising one or more ISs, and optionally, one or more ESs owned and/or administered by an aeronautical industry service organisation. For example, an AISC Routing Area may correspond to a physical location such as an airline's systems located at an airport.
Aeronautical Industry Service Communication Routing Domain
An AISC Routing Domain comprises ESs and ISs that are part of an AISC Administrative Domain.
Aeronautical Industry Service Communication Routing Domains Confederation
The ATN AISC Routing Domain Confederation (RDC) consists of all AISC Routing Domains in the ATN.
Aeronautical Information
Information relating to flight safety, air navigation, technical, administrative or legislative matters.
Aeronautical Information Circular
A notice containing information that does not qualify for the origination of a NOTAM or for inclusions in the AIP, but which related to flight safety, air navigation, technical, administrative or legislative matters.
Aeronautical Information Publication
A publication issued by or with the authority of a State containing aeronautical information of a lasting character essential to air navigation.
Aeronautical Information Regulation and Control
A regulated system for disseminating information concerning significant changes to specified data items applicable to airspace boundaries, ATS routes and procedures, radio navigation aids and communication facilities, meteorological facilities, runways and stopways.
Note: Based upon a series of effective dates of intervals of 28 days, the AIRAC cycle is designed to ensure that all users of aeronautical information receive new information and changes to existing information at least 28 days in advance of the effective date
Aeronautical Information Service
A service provided for the collection and dissemination of information needed to ensure the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation. Such information includes the availability of air navigation facilities and services and the procedures associated with them, and must be provided to flight operations personnel and services responsible for flight information service.


Aeronautical Mobile Satellite Service
1- AMSS provides packet-mode data and circuit-mode data and voice service to aircraft and ground users provided by a satellite sub network that comprises satellites, Aircraft Earth Stations (AESs), Ground Earth Stations (GESs) and associated ground facilities such as a network co-ordination centre.
2- Voice and data, using the Aeronautical Mobile Satellite Service (AMSS), will be the main new feature of future aeronautical communications systems. The use of communication satellites will provide global coverage which could support both high and low speed data links as well as high quality voice links between aircraft and ground.
