Sub network Domain The set of end systems and intermediate system connected to the same physical network.
Sub network Independent Convergence Function The sub network independent convergence protocol is the common protocol for all ATN host computers and routers that is used for the transfer of data. In the ATN internet, the SNICF is the connectionless network protocol defined by ISO 8473.
Sub network Management Entity An entity resident within the GDLP that performs sub network management and communicates with peer entitles in intermediate or end-systems.
Sub network Point of Attachment The SNPA is the point at which a real end system, interworking unit, or real sub network is attached to a real sub network, and is a conceptual point within an end or intermediate system at which the sub network service is offered.

Sub network Sub layer
A component of the OSI reference Model that provides the Protocol mechanism for data transfer between peer entities within the same sub network. This sub layer is an implementation of the OSI sub network access facility (SNAcF).
Sub-Field
A component of a field.
Sub-Network Point of Attachment Address
The SNPA address provides information used in the context of a particular real sub network to identify a SNPA. An SNPA address is a sub network address such as X.25 DTE Addresses, Ethemet MAC Addresses, etc.
Sub-System
Any system which is associated with the air traffic control system as a provider and/or recipient of information relating to the provision of air traffic control service.
Sub-Task
Distinct step or activity required for completing a task; used extensively in Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA) with analyses focused on sub-tasks that are repeated across tasks.
Sub-Topic
Subdivision of a topic.
Sum (of Errors)
In relation to NSE and TSE, sum refers to the method employed for combining errors from sub-systems of an aggregate system in order to compute the error for the aggregate system. If the sub-system errors are measured simultaneously at fixed instants of time (in which case they may be positive or negative), then the aggregate system error at the same time is the simple sum of the sub-system errors. If the errors for the sub-systems are quantified by the statistical root mean square (RMS) of the instantaneous errors, and instantaneous errors are regarded as independent random variables, then the aggregate system RMS error is the root sum square of the sub-system RMS errors.
Sum Pattern
Normal radiation pattern for the main directional beam of an antenna. Contrasts with the difference-pattern, where a part of the radiating elements of the antenna are switched in anti-phase to produce signals proportional to the amount by which the source is off the bore sight of the sum pattern.
Summarising
Reducing text in order to make it more readable in Pre-flight Information Bulletin.
Super High Frequency
