Air Traffic Service Receiving Unit
I.e. the ATS unit that will next assume control responsibility of a flight. Air Traffic Service Route
1- A specified route designed for channelling the flow of traffic as necessary for the provision of air traffic services (ICAO).
2- In the context of the FUA Concept, the term "ATS route" is used to mean Upper Air Route, Airway, Advisory Route, Standard Instrument Departure or Standard Arrival Route, RNAV Route, Permanent Route and Conditional Route.
Air Traffic Service Unit
A generic term meaning : a) Ground : Air Traffic Control Unit, Flight Information Centre, or Air Traffic Control Service (area control services reporting office. ATSUI refers to both human operators (e.g. controllers) and automated systems (e.g. data processing systems) at an ATSU, unless specifically stated otherwise. b) Aircraft : a concept introduced on-board the Airbus aircraft family, which is in charge of managing the air/ground data link communication, which hosts all air traffic control and flight information applications, which manages the human machine interface and any required integration in air traffic control of flight information user systems on-board the aircraft.
Air Traffic Services (ATS)
A generic term meaning variously, flight information service, alerting service, air traffic advisory service, air traffic control service (area control service, approach control service or aerodrome control service) (ICAO Doc 9569 Definitions).
Air Traffic Services Communications
Communications related to air traffic services including air traffic control, aeronautical and meteorological information, position reporting and services related to safety and regularity of flight. This communication must involve one or more air traffic service administrations. This term is used for purposes of address administration.
Air Traffic Services Communications Administrative Domain
An ATSC Administrative Domain is an ATN Administrative Domain owned and/or administered by an air traffic services organisation.
Air Traffic Services Communications Routing Areas
An ATSC Routing Area is a routing sub domain comprising one or more ISs, and optionally, one or more ESs owned and/or administered by an ATS organisation. For example, an ATSC Routing Area may correspond to a physical location such as an airport.
Air Traffic Services Communications Routing Domain
An ATSC Routing Domain comprises ESs and ISs that are part of an ATSC Administrative
Domain.
Air Traffic Services Communications Routing Domain Confederation
The ATN ATSC RDC consists of all ATSC RDs in the ATN.
Air Traffic Services Facilities Notification Function
An ARINC 622 function to enable aircraft to establish data link communications with Air Traffic
Control Facilities.
